System notices
This is the kind of feature that matters to only one person, me. In response to my earlier screw-up, I added system notices to the site. They show up on the front page, there is a list of past ones, and they are shown according to start and end dates. It's a simple thing to add (in Rails at least) but it really adds to the completeness of the system.

Hello. This site is a great idea and has lots of potential.
My only issue is that I don't feel very comfortable entering all my data (wich takes a lot of time) without having some sort of export functionality.
Static pages would be great, some form of published xml format even better.

Being able to export your data is a great idea. Like you suggested, I'll have to give some thought to what's the most useful format.
As a test, I whipped up a very raw CSV version but I'm not really happy with it:
